World RISC-V Days Recap: Graz Edition

March 4, 2026

The Graz edition of World RISC-V Days has officially concluded, and what an inspiring gathering it was.

Hosted at Graz University of Technology, the event brought together approximately 90 participants from across the region and beyond. The audience represented a vibrant mix of students, researchers, and industry professionals — a true reflection of the growing and diverse RISC-V ecosystem.

A Strong Community Gathering

The program featured engaging pitch talks, a dynamic poster and showcase session, and active networking throughout the day. The atmosphere was energetic and collaborative, highlighting the strength of the RISC-V community in Graz and across Austria.

Events like this demonstrate how RISC-V continues to expand globally — not only as an open instruction set architecture, but as a movement powered by education, research, and industry collaboration.

Yuning Liang: Reflecting on 15 Years of RISC-V — and the Road Ahead

A key highlight of the event was the session by Yuning Liang, titled:

“Past and Next 15 Years: RISC-V Destiny and Progress from RVA23.”

In his talk, Yuning reflected on the remarkable journey of RISC-V over the past 15 years — from an academic initiative to a global industry force reshaping computing architectures. He also shared insights into the significance of the RVA23 profile and what it represents for ecosystem maturity, software compatibility, and the next phase of scalable RISC-V adoption.

Looking ahead, the discussion explored how RISC-V will continue to evolve across personal computing, AI workloads, and distributed intelligence — driven by openness, modularity, and community collaboration.

Looking Forward

The success of World RISC-V Days – Graz Edition once again highlights the power of global community engagement. As RISC-V momentum accelerates worldwide, gatherings like this strengthen local ecosystems while connecting them to a broader international movement.

A big thank you to the organizers, speakers, and all participants who made this event possible. We look forward to seeing the Austrian RISC-V community continue to grow — and to many more collaborations ahead.
