The Ubuntu Summit 25.10 has concluded with resounding success, marking a pivotal moment for the RISC-V ecosystem. The unveiling of the RVA23 application profile emerged as the central theme of the summit, representing RISC-V’s most significant leap forward. Heinrich Schuchardt, Software Engineer at Canonical, and Yuning Liang, CEO and Founder of DeepComputing, delivered an engaging session titled “RISC-V Forward to the Future: Moving to RVA23”. Their presentation showcased three key product lines, each seamlessly integrated with Ubuntu.


The DC-ROMA RVA23 Systems – including laptops and workstations – have achieved full Ubuntu certification, showcasing production-ready devices that leverage RVA23’s vector processing capabilities for enhanced performance in real-world applications.
The Open Router V platform demonstrated RISC-V’s strength in networking applications, featuring hardware-accelerated encryption and advanced traffic management capabilities while maintaining full upstream kernel support.
Most notably, the DC-ROMA RISC-V AI PC platforms enabled practical local LLM execution through hardware-accelerated inference, running multi-billion parameter models entirely offline and showcasing RISC-V’s potential in the AI era.
