OpenSouthCode 2026: Growing the Linux App Ecosystem Together with RISC-V

June 30, 2026

OpenSouthCode 2026 once again brought together developers, open-source contributors, technology enthusiasts, and industry leaders in Málaga, Spain, for one of Southern Europe’s most vibrant open-source conferences.

DeepComputing was delighted to return to this year’s conference, reconnecting with the community and contributing to the ongoing growth of the open-source ecosystem.

Growing the Linux App Ecosystem with RISC-V and RVA23 Platforms

A highlight of this year’s event was the presentation by DeepComputing Founder & CEO Yuning Liang.

During the session, Yuning shared the latest progress in the RISC-V ecosystem and discussed how the introduction of the RVA23 Profile is helping improve software compatibility and platform standardization.

The engaging discussions and audience feedback once again demonstrated the growing interest in open computing and the expanding opportunities for RISC-V worldwide.

Reconnecting with the Open-Source Community

Throughout the event, we had the pleasure of meeting long-time collaborators from across the open-source community. From Linux developers and distribution maintainers to ecosystem partners and hardware innovators, every conversation reflected a shared commitment to building an open, collaborative future for computing.

The continued growth of the RISC-V ecosystem is made possible through partnerships across the community. Together, we are driving upstream collaboration, expanding Linux software support, and creating more opportunities for developers to innovate on open hardware platforms.

Looking Ahead

As the ecosystem continues to evolve, DeepComputing remains committed to delivering powerful, developer-friendly RISC-V hardware. Our latest DC-ROMA RISC-V Mainboard III for Framework Laptop 13 represents another important step toward making high-performance, open computing more accessible to developers, makers, and Linux enthusiasts around the world.

Pre-orders are now open, and we look forward to seeing what the community will build with the next generation of RISC-V laptops.
