DeepComputing Received Overwhelming Interest at FOSDEM 2025

February 17, 2025

FOSDEM 2025 in Brussels was an exciting journey for DeepComputing, making a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing RISC-V technology. The event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our latest innovations and connect with a global community of developers, tech enthusiasts, and industry leaders.

One of the key highlights was Yuning Liang’s talk, which drew attention to the future of RISC-V and how it’s revolutionizing the tech landscape. Attendees were particularly excited about the DC-ROMARISC-V Mainboard, which supports both Ubuntu and Fedora.

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with many people excited about the potential of Framework combined with RISC-V. It was inspiring to see how the modular design concept resonated with so many developers and users. As Till Kamppeter, Linux Foundation Fellow, highlighted during his talk, swapping out components, like the mainboard in Framework, is similar to the way Xerox used to swap cartridges in their copiers. This analogy perfectly captures the vision of modular computing where users can easily upgrade or replace parts to keep up with evolving technology.

Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, DeepComputing will continue to drive the development of RISC-V technology, unlocking its immense potential in AI applications. We will delve into and showcase the unique advantages of the RISC-V architecture in accelerating AI technology adoption, from technical innovation and design philosophy to the real-world implementation of AI applications, driving progress in AI within the RISC-V ecosystem.

Through close collaboration with industry-leading partners such as Framework, RISC-V SoC manufacturers, open-source operating system partners like Canonical and Fedora, and AI application developers utilizing vertically optimized DeepSeek LLM models, like the recent collaboration with VLC, we will jointly develop the next generation of revolutionary RISC-V AI PCs, enhancing the speed and efficiency of AI applications and injecting stronger momentum into the development of AI technology.
